Herbal Tea

On this cold Autumn-like day there's nothing like being inside cosy warm, sipping on a yummy hot herbal tea. But besides this, herbal tea has many health benefits.

From soothing tummy pains, to helping insomnia, to improving concentration, herbal teas have all sorts of healing elements.

On a side note herbal tea is infact not actually made of tea at all, rather an infusion of leaves, seeds, roots or bark in which is extracted in hot water.

Choosing the right tea for your health benefit:
(of course this list is quite limited)

Peppermint Tea: relieves the symptoms of abdominal gas and bloating and relieves muscle spasms.

Ginger Tea: great digestive aid, can be used to curb nausea, vomiting or an upset stomach.

Roibos tea: high in Vitamin C and has also been know for its antioxidant properties.

Lemon Balin tea: helpful for lifting the spirits and can help improve concentration.

Rosehip tea: high in Vitamin C, which is important for the immune system, skin & tissue health and adrenal function.

Grateful

Increase in gratitude = Increase in confidence = Increase in motivation

One of the primary motivation killers is having a lack of confidence. Focussing on what you want rather than being grateful for what you already have creates illusions of why you aren't getting what you want and ultimately lose confidence in who you are.

Try putting your focus on gratitude. Being grateful for what you have, your successes, your strengths, things that make you happy. Being grateful will help boost confidence and will then motivate you to build on your successes.

Ask yourself, what are you grateful for today?

Testing the Nike Free Run 3+

Last night I went running in my new shoes, Nike Free Run 3+ for the first time. Now I have to admit that I'm used of wearing my Asics Nimbus, which I haven't changed shoe brand for around 7 years, so at first these new flashy shoes were a bit weird to get used to. They do have much less support then the Nimbus, I don't feel as safe in them but in terms of comfort and weight, they are fantastic. So motivating to tackle a run in such feather light shoes. I wouldn't recommend doing long runs on the bitumen, but off road they are great. I will see in the next couple weeks how they turn out. But for now having flashy, funky shoes that are very light in weight is a huge motivator! So I will just enjoy the fact that I'm getting back into running.

So if you're looking for a motivator to get back into running (providing you are in good shape and you haven't had any serious injuries) then maybe some bright feather-weight Nikes will be that difference.

Tie Dye Movement

Mission 1. Perform a handstand

Sport has always come naturally for me. I have always been able to pick up a sport and play pretty successfully. But I have never been able to do a handstand and stay there. My husband is a talent when it comes to this. So I have told him that he has until the end of the year to teach me to stand. My mission to handstand long enough for him to take a creative photo of me ...like this one from Free People.

Bring it on.
